This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors.

Introduction

Situated on First Avenue in Hove very close to the seafront, The Imperial Hotel is conveniently located for both the leisure and business traveller. First Avenue connects the busy town centre of Hove with the attractive seafront.

Pre-Arrival

  • The nearest mainline station is Hove,but Brighton station is also close by. Accessible taxi services are available from both stations.
  • A bus stop is located 100yards away to the City centre with connections to other parts of the city and nearby towns.

Car Parking and Arrival

  • On street car parking is available in the avenues around the hotel. Vouchers are available the council approved scheme from reception.
  • A limited number of spaces (which can be pre booked) are available at the side of the hotel. Charges apply

Main Entrance / Reception / Welcome Area

  • The main entrance is accessed by 5 steps which lead to the reception area
  • There is a hand rail
  • Reception is well lit and assistance can be given with registration
  • A lift is available to from the reception area
  • Seating is available in the adjacent lounge

Bedrooms

  • Rooms are situated on first floors or higher with three larger family rooms in the basement.
  • There are no ground floor rooms
  • Rooms vary in size, but are generally spacious
  • Some family rooms are available which might be used for a carer

Bathrooms, Shower-rooms and Toilets

  • The majority of bathrooms are well equipped and can offer both bath and showering facilities
  • Grab rails are fitted to some baths and showers (please request)

Public Areas – Halls, Stairs, Landings, Corridors

  • Corridors are lit by light sensors
  • all hallways,corridors are carpeted
  • Lifts access all floors, some rooms are located near the lift, but some stairs lead to the majority of rooms.

Public Areas – Lounges, Lobbies

  • Reception leads to a lounge, bar and breakfast room
  • The lounge is equipped with sofas and chairs, but ‘upright’ seating can be provided
  • Lighting is by artificial and natural daylight

Breakfast/Dining Room, Bar & Terrace area

  • The Breakfast room is accessed by three steps from the lounge/bar level
  • Meals can be served on request in the bar or lounge
  • All rooms are well lit with both artificial and natural daylight
  • The Terrace is acceded via the bar

Public Toilets

  • Both ladies and gents toilets are accessible on the ground floor
  • A separate disabled toilet is available

Conference and Meeting Rooms

  • The Imperial has 2 conference rooms seating 10 – 100 delegates
  • All conference rooms have natural and artificial lighting
